OUTSOURCE to improve ECOMMERCE
Achievement:
As part of an e-commerce project, Premium Credit required to outsource high volume print services.
Scope: As the No.1 Insurance Premium Finance Company in the UK and Ireland, The Board of Premium Credit was keen to outsource their postal service and link data back into the ecommerce implementation programme.
What Bob did: Assigned as Project Manager to lead vendor selection and integration. Initiated project; drove creation of RFP; managed RFP process; led vendor evaluation, selection and due diligence; and led technical, process and security integration between selected supplier and Premium Credit Oracle ecommerce system. Succeeded in creating and leading a rigorous and transparent supplier selection process, and fully integrating supplier services.
What the supplier said: “Bob is more than a project manager, he binds and then leads the team, developing relationships initially with the supplier and then taking the project into the depth of the client to promote a strong bond, a hard worker, great communicator and real team player.”Alan Newman, Business Development Manager, Communisis

Achievement:
Bob delivered the key phase of a £32m infrastructure programme which sought to raise Legal & General further up the pensions league table.
Scope: The Board’s objective was to raise the company’s position in the Pensions league table. Careful management was needed to deliver the second phase of a complex £32m programme, using new SOA technology to improve the performance of legacy systems.
What Bob did: Working closely with senior management we created a business vision and plan, engaging with key stakeholders across the company. Bob made it a priority to communicate the vision and blueprint effectively, and to establish a robust set of governance standards for the business solution. This clearly helped in overcoming cultural change within the company. Bob led the team using MSP, Prince 2 & Agile across business requirements, architecture, analysis, development (involving CSS, Html, Java, XML, and IBM Websphere) and testing. Phase two was delivered to time and budget.
What the client said: "Rarely have I been so impressed, by the ability you have to not only identify important things that are going wrong, being done badly or not at all - i.e. damaging the programme as a whole - but also to identify them at exactly the right time and take short, sharp corrective action with a minimum of fuss. So much so that I suspect most people didn't even recognise the problems let alone realise that they were being corrected! The thing that sticks in my mind is the way you did the above not only once, but many times on the project." Technical Architect, Legal & General

Planned activities to fit with business operations, training strategy and gain acceptance by stakeholders of system changes, and process to support during and after live. Created PID with resource plan, costs, risks and issues, communications for aggregation into a programme plan for CIO.
